Camaraderie is the cornerstone of a resilient military community. On the Chesapeake Bay, wounded and ill veterans from all eras of service are given a therapeutic refuge where healing happens through shared experience. ASYMCA HR helps cultivate an environment where this unique group build connections, lean on one another, draw strength from shared experiences, and recharge away from the demands of daily life.

We had such an amazing time at our 11th Annual Hearts For Heroes Fishing Trip! We are so thankful to all of our sponsors, volunteers and staff that helped put together this fantastic event.
Hearts for Heroes seeks to provide our nation’s wounded and ill veterans with the opportunity for a day of respite on the Chesapeake Bay. Veterans and their caregivers are invited on a half day or full day (their choice) fishing trip at absolutely no cost to them.
Be sure to stay on the lookout for information on next year’s trip!
This trip is designed for wounded, injured, and ill veterans of all service-related operations, along with their caregivers. Veterans are welcome to bring an additional guest that is not a caregiver for $25.
Lunch and snacks will be provided for all guests!
You are more than welcome to bring some snacks with you for the trip, but please no glass bottles or containers, and no alcohol.
We have 3 options you can choose from. We offer 2 half-day trips (Morning trip departs 730 and returns around 1200, Afternoon trip departs 1240 and returns around 1645) and a full day trip (Departs at 0800 and returns around 1530).
All trips will disembark from Rudee Inlet: located at 200 Winston Salem Ave, Virginia Beach VA, 23451
We would love to have you help us celebrate our veterans! Sponsorship opportunities range from $5,000-$250 and more information can be found on our sponsorship page, or by emailing Laurie Erie at LErie@ASYMCA.org.
