Hearts For Heroes Fishing Trip
Comradery among peers is important to a strong military community. This comradery is even more important to our nation’s wounded and ill veterans. Our Hearts For Heroes Fishing Trip allows our service-wounded, injured, and ill veterans of all service-related operations the opportunity for a therapy respite outlet on the Chesapeake Bay. We create an environment for this unique military unit to rely upon each other and to be strengthened by each other’s experiences.
Father Daughter Military Ball
Our annual Father-Daughter Military Ball is a highly anticipated event that provides an opportunity for fathers to spend time with their daughters, strengthening the father-daughter bond and creating memories that will last a lifetime. This special evening features photo opportunities, hands-on activities, a live DJ, dancing, souvenirs, delicious dinner and dessert, and special guest appearances.
Be Somebody's Hero Golf Tournament
Are you ready to “be somebody’s hero”? Are you ready to take your swing for a good cause? We sure hope so! This annual golf tournament is hosted by the Hampton Roads Naval Academy Alumni Chapter and helps raise money to fund our no-cost and low-cost programs at the ASYMCA.
Military Family Fall Festival
The Military Family Fall Festival and Resource Fair provides a free day of family fun in a safe environment for our Hampton Roads military members and their families. Filled with entertainment, crafts, activities, and games for our military families to enjoy, the day also provides valuable information on resources for our military community.
Five Star Military Family Recognition Luncheon
In recognition of the sacrifices families make to support their Marines, Sailors, Coast Guardsmen, Soldiers, and Airmen, the President of the United States signs a proclamation every November, declaring it Military Family Month.
For the past 30 years, the ASYMCA of Hampton Roads has taken this premise further by hosting our annual luncheon to recognize active duty, enlisted, and junior officer service members and their families who best represent service to their country and commitment to their local community through a spriit of volunteerism and philantropic support
